Finland Ups the Ante

Ah, those Finns...they may very create the first fully metal society on Earth. The AFP has an article about Metal Masses, where Lutheran hymns - restructured, in the true Protestant spirit, by lay believers, not members of the church hierarchy - are played by metal bands in churches. In practice, I suppose it's not really any different than the Christian metal played in the US, but this is a country with less people than New York City. Any cultural movement that goes on there has to have a bigger impact on the percentage of the population and while I'm not a religious person by any stretch of the imagination, I do like the idea of a group of people subverting the norm in an unusual way.
