Parker Lundgren Joins Queensryche

Queensryche has announced their new guitarist. Parker Lundgren looks like a complete douche nozzle, he's marrying the boss's daughter - which I guess can be awkward or not depending on how the two interact, but definitely no groupies on tour - and (in addition to the Tate family connection) he's Geoff's man by coming from the Geoff Tate solo project touring band. The Blabbermouth link above includes a YouTube clip of Parker playing in Seattle, but unconveniently cuts out before we can really see what he can do.

Here's what piques my curiousity: publically, it looks like Queensryche just put themselves that much further into Geoff Tate's pocket by hiring his future son-in-law. This arrangement may make for a lack of confict, but stability doesn't always make for most exciting music. Maybe we'll see if there are any new sparks in the live set when the band comes around this spring; if not, I'll be happy to fall back on mocking that killer rose neck tattoo.

I saw this kid play at The Fillmore in SF. He still has that red babyface thing going on. Looks no older than 18.... And he did a fantastic job.

When I saw one of Geoff Tate's solo shows, parker offered to take a photo of me and Geoff... didn't really strike me as a douche.

saw him this past week in Hampton Beach, did a good job. he is 22 years old and very nice. after the show he took a good 15-20 minutes to talk with both of my kids and encourage them to continue in music. yes he is married to the boss's daughter but hey that just keeps him on a tighter rein lol. he stayed to do many autographs and photos with the fans. not many people will take the time to do that.

I just saw him in Monroe and he is a great guitar player! I also was able to meet him after and he is gracious and committed to the music. Bosses daughter or not, he's great!

I saw him in Salt Lake City on both Geoff's solo and American Soldier tour. I think he made some very annoying moves coming really close to the edge and across the stage and posing like if he wanted to be revered; he even almost bumped into Michael who seemed not to like the whole scene. I wouldn't as far a douche but it surprises me the guys would miss out in bringing in someone with more substance.

I saw him play with Queensryche when they opened up for Chicken foot. I thought he had better stage presents than everyone else in Queensryche and Chicken foot.

Just saw queensryche play in joliet.
Show was great as always and got to talk to most of the band after the show .
Parker was so cool to the fans taking pictures and signing autographs just like all the other guys . This kid fit right in rocked the house and was not cocky or anything just did his thing.
He is a good addition to the band I think they made a good choice!!
